PORK AFRITADA




My version of pork afritada.My aunt way back in the Philippines was a cook and upon accompanying her during one of her cooking,I remember slight details(slight lang kase its been 15 years maybe and Im still 14-15 years old that time )My version is quite simple though but I think hers was more (hehehe ,certain namn she wont be reading this)Peace ya!^.^V..Here it goes:

INGREDIENTS:

200 g pork
250 g tomato sauce(with olive)
1 tsp salt
1 tsp olive oil
1 tbsp Maggi magic sarap seasoning granules
2 cups potaoes
2 cups carrots
1 whole onion sliced
1 cup green peas
1/2 cup water
1/2 tbsp soy sauce

PROCEDURE:

Season pork with salt and heat the pan.Bring in olive oil,pork til a little golden brown and add onions,saute for 1 minute.Add tomato sauce and soy sauce,mix the magic sarap granules in 1/2 cup water and pour.Preboil ,add carrots and after 3 minutes add the potaoes (careful not to overcook the carrots )Add green peas.Simmer for another minute.Serve with hot rice.

UDON SOUP(japanese dish)



Want to share this very satisfying and quick to do soup with udon as my main pick.You can pair this with any rice palate ,the savory taste of dashi and soy sauce makes a complete meal.Let's get started!

INGREDIENTS:

1 pack Udon
1 small pack hondashi(stock from kombo kelp)
1/2 tsp soy sauce
11/2 cups of water
A pint of chili powder(optional)
1 stalk spring onion sliced

PROCEDURE:

Get a pot,put on 1 1/2 cup of water and blend hondashi stock with it.Let boil.Once boiling,add udon and cook for 5 minutes .Once desired softness is achieved,season with soy sauce.Simmer for 1 or 2 minutes.Add chili powder to have a spicy taste(this depends on you,you can serve it alone without it).Sprinkle spring onions.Serve together with your main dish.Have a hearty meal!

CURRY RICE(Japanese Curry)







A simple get together was cancelled and I have bought lots of stuff for my small party.Decided to cook for dinner instead.Thought to share it here,lemme start..

Today's menu is the japanese style curry.I am gonna show you how and it is so simple to follow,just maybe kinda hard to find the ingredients.You can buy these if there is a japanese store available in your place.

INGREDIENTS:

2 cups potatoes(medium sliced)
11/2 cupsCarrots(medium sliced)
1 pc torokero cube(curry flavor)
1 tbsp soy sauce
1/2 tsp salt
200 g pork cube(sliced same with potato and carrots)
1/2 tsp olive oil
1 whole onion
2 cups water
1/2 tbsp red pickles


PROCEDURE:

Heat a pan over high heat,add 1/2 tsp olive oil.Add pork,season with 1/2 tsp salt and roast til golden brown.Add the potatoes,carrots and onions.Saute for about 2 to 3 minutes via high heat.Add 2 cups of water,cover and cook for about 15 to 30 minutes.When vegetables are tender add kokumarou cube(curry flavor or powder)and soy sauce,stir til cube melts and blended well.Simmer through low heat for 15 minutes.Serve with rice top with radish pickles.Enjoy!

PINAKBET ala Ann


The delicious,healthy filipino recipe I so loved.Made me feel Im just a few blocks away from home.:)

Ingredients:
1 cup Squash
5 to 6 pieces okra
1 to 2 tbsp.shrimp paste
200 g pork
1 pc eggplant
1 tsp olive oil
1/2 cup water

Procedure:
Saute pork in cooking oil til golden brown .Bring in squash,eggplant,okra and shrimp paste.Mix all for 2 minutes and
pour water.Cover with lid ,simmer til squash is soft enough.You can add more shrimp paste or salt for the desired flavor.
Serve hot with rice.
